Hubby says he's happy for me to not work til he starts school because we don't have family help & childcare is a joke but I need to do something

Check the gov UK site for childcare info, I'm sure it's just changed on what they pay for for working parents

Working full time here, no family nearby to help. We have our daughter in nursery and we both work while she is there. Then at the time she is not we have a lot of time when I work and he's with her and vice versa. We get the Sunday together and some time in the evenings some days. It is tough but it is what it is. You are not saying how old baby is or what you can work but if you can wait until you get funded hours, I would.

@Katie living my dreams 🥹😍

Me and my Husband both work from home full time. LO is at nursery 3 days and the other 2 days he’s at home with us. We have no other help from family etc. We also can’t afford any additional days from nursery atm either. That’s the only way we can manage

I went back 3 days a week, my MIL has my two for me those days x

@Sudanny✨ he just doesn't wanna do nappies 😅😅

didn't even mean to post it in incognito mode sorry 😅, sorry my child is 2 this month, so use kind of just get on with it ok, it's going to be more stressful for me to work by the looks of things ugh 😅 I just want to earn some money but I know the majority is going to go to childcare unfortunately :(

We don’t have any family nearby so my little boy goes to nursery for the four days a week that I’m at work. The government tax-free childcare and funded hours are helping to keep the costs a bit more reasonable 😊

oh I will look into that I didn't even think of that haha thank you :) @Sophie

I work full time in hospitality, so my hours differ week to week and I do sometimes 12/13h shifts but my partner works day time hours and have weekends off so I drop little one off at nursery and my OH picks him up and he says with him over the weekends. If I have a late shift I do chores after coming back home from the drop off, same on days off where I drop LO off at nursery and go home and do chores. It's hard work, but needs to be done

I work 4 days a week term time, husband works full time. 4 year old is in term time nursery 4 days and with MIL the other day (her 4 days and my 4 days aren’t the same annoyingly!). 2 year old is with MIL 2 days, my mum 1 day and a childminder 1 day. In the holidays they’re with me the whole time ☺️

I work 3-4days a week, husband works 6days a week. Our almost 2yr old goes to Nursery 1 day a week, and then MIL has her another day and my mum has her the other day x

I’m not working at the moment as currently pregnant and not looking to go back until after baby is around 9 months. But I used to work evenings as a carer once my partner got home from work. This avoided the childcare situation.

No family help as they live 60miles away. I work shifts, amd luckily found a nursery that will follow my shift pattern. Some weeks only 2 days in, other weeks days in

I’ve found a really great nursery and receive help from UC for the childcare costs, I wanted to return to work after maternity once baby was 9 months + which meant I was also eligible for 15 hours free childcare. I also had to negotiate new working hours with my employee which meant less pay but for now it feels like a better quality of life as I finish at 4pm instead of 6pm x
