Planned section tomorrow

Does anyone have any hints or tips or things that I might have forgotten about? I’m starting to worry that I’m missing something obvious as both my consultant and pre op appointments felt really relaxed and casual and I didn’t seem to get a list of dos and donts 🤔

I’m also having mine tomorrow 🙂 I’ve packed peppermint tea as it’s meant to be good for trapped wind. Also chewing gum helps. Disposable c section pants. High fibre snacks to help go to the toilet after. Good luck I hope everything goes well! It’s my first and I’m so so scared but excited too x

I had an emergency one 2 days ago and I can definitely say that peppermint tea or capsules r a must. Disposable underwear that you can fold down easily or have low rise. Big bottle or beaker of water that u can refill easily. Make sure u have loads of paracetamol and ibuprofen stocked up for when u get home. Make sure u use ur birthing partner to get in and out of bed, I just wrap my arms around my husbands neck as he hold s my back and gently pulls me up, absolutely life saver for the amount of pain ull be in and u cant use ur abdominal muscles

I had an emergency one at the beginning of August. Definitely need peppermint tea for the wind, I was on a ward with 4 other ladies all farting away. Tip wise I have a few; make sure you get up and out of the bed as soon as you can, it will hurt but you need to get your mobility back to be able to go home. Keep on top of the pain meds I forgot to take a set and boy did I feel it when I stood up. ABC lastly when going the toilet for the 1st no2 try not to push too hard you may pop a stitch. Hope it goes well xx
