I’ve done wfh for 3 days a week since April 2023. It’s totally doable as long as your work is flexible, your team is supportive, your child gets into the routine and they don’t mind some solo play. I make sure I have no meetings between 12-1 as a rule. That’s lunch time and go for a nap time, that means 1-2 is free everyday for powering through stuff that I need to concentrate on whilst she’s sleeping. I log in nice and early and let her eat breakfast, watch some Sesame Street and play outside. This gives me 2-3 hours solid work/email checking before most people have even logged on for the day. She’s so used to it now, she pops in next to me a lot. “Hi mummy”, “whatcha doing?”, sometimes she happily just sits with me whilst I type or sit on a boring teams meeting. She’s very docile and laid back though. If she has a bad day (terrible 2s), I’ll just make sure I catch up at 8pm when she goes to bed to make sure I’m not behind for tomorrow. Just be flexible around them xx

Thank you so much! Is there anything that keeps her happy/occupied indoors when the weather is really bad outside? Xx

My usual tactics on rainy days: Crayola water colouring mat (no mess!) Duplo/magnetic tiles Yoto player for dancing or a story Screen time (little tv breaks with Sesame Street, Ms Rachel) Helps me make lunch She “reads” her books quietly If I don’t need the camera on, I’ll do something actively with her like play shop whilst on my headset listening Playdoh (in eyesight 😂)

It gets easier, honestly xx

I find it hard to work from home with my baby and my husband is here full time as he is unable to work currently. I think it depends on the temperament of your little one, but I absolutely couldn’t do it alone xx

I work full time, my partner has our son on a Monday and when they are home I find it near on impossible to concentrate. There’s no way I’d be able to do it alone with my child.. xx

For me, it was doable for a few months but my work got more intense and now it’s pretty much impossible. Had to start nursery, currently working up to 4 mornings (8-2) a week which is just sooooo much easier. Working from home with a baby/toddler is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done, not to sound dramatic 😂
