Nursery

Anyone applied for nursery yet? I have and I don’t think I’m ready for her to go to nursery in January just yet even though she’s already in flying start. I think it’s the school uniform that’s making it more big girl official😭

My girl starts next month. Still can't wrap my head around it that it's getting so close. But, she is so ready and with how excited she is, makes me so happy to see as that will be so good for her to be around children her own age. As she starts on the week of Halloween, I also got her few themed clothes for that week 🥰

We aren't sending our little boy to school nursery until next September so he will only do a year in the nursery before starting reception instead of nearly 2 (as he would have been starting in January too). He's going to remain at his private nursery until then. I totally get where you're coming from x

Yes, I've applied too 😊 we're all super excited for her to go, her probably being the most excited, to be honest 😅 she's more than ready to go, I think. Just hoping our preferred school has places, as I've heard it's already full 😕 She's not been in nursery up until now, but is starting flying start in a couple of weeks 😊

Sorry if I'm being dump but our sept 21 babies start reception at 4 going on 5?

@Mel yeah that's right, my little boy is 3 tomorrow so he will turn 5 the first week they start reception x

We are In Scotland our council starts the day after their 3rd birthday so my LO started 2 days ago. I had to apply by Feb 2024 for September start x I was super nervous and a bit emotional but she has absolutely smashed it! X

@Claire that's quite interesting, our council starts a month after they turn 3, so my girl starts next month after October break. Still better than what it used to be where people had to wait until after Christmas

@Mel That’s right. So mine will be 3 on the 19th September. She’ll going to rising threes in January in one of our chosen schools. She’ll then stay there in the nursery (same class) September 2025 - July 2026 and then will go full time September 2026 when she’s almost 5. Drags it out so much x

My little one already in pre-nurswry she started in April this year, she can start the school nursery In January but I may keep her where she is for another year as she's settled. X

I should add she is fully funded she is in 5days 08:00-12:45 48weeks a year with lunch and snack included x

@Claire ours is 8:45am-2:45pm, term time.

I’d loved term time but it just doesn’t work for us sadly x

@Claire does your girl end up going in during summer holidays? When my eldest was in nursery, she was in from 12:30pm until 5:20pm and she was in through the summer so only break she had was the weekend before she started primary school. It's a school nursery so they are kind of on the same time frame as primary school children x

Yes, it’s a school nursery too. And in over summer she’s off a few weeks at Christmas and odd days dotted about. I’m a nurse and my husband is self employed musician so term time wouldn’t work for us. My nieces who are local also did term time they were 8:45-2:45. It was a great nursery x

My little girls has been going nursery since she turned 2 years old. She is in a term nursery and has been going on Mon, Wed & Fri 9-12 and she enjoys it. She started her second year in nursery last week.
