Anyone doing one day a week for their baby at nursery?

If so, how much are you paying now the funding for 15 free hours has come in to play?

Not really paying anything, the free hours for us covers basically the whole year once a week, we just pay for her food.

@Abbie where are you based in the UK? I’m paying £200 still!

For one day a week?! That’s extortionate! I live in Cheltenham Gloucestershire (it’s quite an expensive place to live) but nursery full days are around £70

I do 2 days a week now and with funding it’s £500 pcm, so 1 day a week would be about £250pcm I would say. A full day for us is 11 hours but most nurseries still take a top up charge as the funding doesn’t cover expenses like food and nappies, just the care.

We doing 1 day a week but our nursery only cover the hours 10:30-4:30 for the funding and she has to do a full nursery day of 8:30-4:30. I pay for 2 hours in the morning, lunch and consumables costs. Its costing me £80 something a month but with tax free child care ive got it down to £66 something. Im in essex area x

Ours does 2 days a week we pay just over 400 a month wrap around and meals and extra curricular activities. A lot of it well depend what's provided and the hours. Ours is open 10 hours so we pay 4-5hrs wrap around daily and meals, snacks and the activities like forest school, yoga, french, sports. He does a full day 8am - 5ish - 5:30.

They're not "free hours" it's funding so all it covers is hours, no meals and many will only let the hours cover certain hours of the day because the money they get from the govt for them doesn't cover costs, or anywhere near in fact

Paying 96 pound a month now was paying 400+ before! Xx

We were quoted for 1 day with funding and it was £76 for the month

My little boy is in one full day and one half day and it’s £270 a month with the funding, all his food costs now.

We do 1 full day and 1 morning per week. After the funding and tax free childcare (we get 11 hours a week as spread out over the year) we’re paying around £175 a month x

My daughter started doing one day per week from age 3 so I only paid for food, £3.90 per day.
