Can you use the funded free hours for a childminder?

So me and my boyfriend are now entitled to 15 free hours of childcare for our little one, however I probably have left it too late to get him into a nursery but I would love him to either go to a nursery or to a childminder. I was just wondering if you can use the hours with a childminder or not?

You can as long as they accept the funding 😊

If theyre ofsted registered yes x

Thank you ladies 😊

Most childminders accept it. You are probably too late to get the funding for this term though, but should be able to get it by January 2025.

@Amy ah okay I will have a try anyway, thanks.

I don't think your too late! I'm also just starting to look now and have found nurseries that have availability which we are going to view this week! Keep looking!

The reason I’m saying it might be too late is because I know childminders and nurseries who have needed the code by a certain time (it was like mid-August) in order to process the funding for this term. Maybe it won’t apply to all.

Our nursery needed the forms filling in by a certain date to be able to claim the funding as Amy has mentioned but it's definitely good to get it all set up and ready
