Early as possible. I already have a child at nursery so I need the same days. I can not get them until February 2026 and I applied when I was 8 weeks pregnant. Currently 18. The change in funding has increased how many children are attending.

Depends on your area. I signed my daughter up at 3 months to start at 11 months due to wait lists

I am pregnant and was checking the local nurseries and guess what? There is an 18 month waiting list!!!!! And you are allowed to apply even if your baby is still in your tummy!!!

That’s what it’s got me questioning now how do we go about it

I got my unborn baby in to my daughters nursery when I was 6 weeks pregnant for Jan 2026 and got one of the last places

We secured a nursery place when I was about 14 weeks pregnant.

I'm bristol and got one at 14 weeks pregnant for sep 2025. But they are getting booked up

As others have said it really varies depending on the area. There's a 2-3 year waiting list in my area, so people get on the list as soon as they find ou they're pregnant.

I’ve booked in a few visits already as I know wait lists can be long xx

I say now, ours has been on the list since we found out as they are fully booked for 2 years

With my first, I went to look at nursery’s at 12 weeks and asked them if it was too early, their reply was you should have come when you were trying 😱

I work in a nursery I’ve registered my bump
