Nursery prices?!

My lo is starting nursery at the end of the month and we’ve worked out it’s around £250 for 3 afternoons a week!? With the 10 odd gov hours a week… She will be having 1 snack (no lunch no dinner) we think that’s extortionate price!! Anyone else’s baby going to nursery and how much are you paying?

£650 for three full days with the 15 gov hours included in that, it’s was £750 last month without but they add a meal charge for the free hours. That includes 2 meals and 2 snacks. Based in Lincolnshire, hope that helps x

@Sophie Damn! It’s so expensive even with the free hours 😭I’m working to afford nursery

£822 for 2 full days + 2 morning sessions. 11 gov hours per week is already included. £91 consumables is included in there. The full days - we get 3 meals and 2 snacks The morning sessions - we get 1 breakfast mean and 1 snack but lots of food provided Buckinghamshire

My boy does 3 10hr days and with the gov funding and tax free childcare is about £400. He has 3 meals and 2 snacks but we don't have to pay any additional contributions for it. Seems like we've found the only nursery that doesn't charge for consumables on funded days. It's also at my partner's work so we get a £3 a day discount. Based in Reading

We do 2 full days (7:30-4:30) at childminder, just got our first bill through and it’s only £57 a month (with the 15hours). Includes breakfast lunch snacks and a light tea! X

If we just did 4 afternoons it would be fully funded at our nursery. We're getting one full day for £87 a month and then paying for one morning a week at £42 per morning... Nottingham based.

£697 for 2 days a week, but with the tax free childcare and the free hours it's now £380 that's in Oxfordshire

£712 for 3 full days( 10hours) with the 15hours ( we actually get 11 hours all years instead of 15 over 38weeks ) bring it to 580 with tax free childcare ! (Ealing, London )

After the funded hours are taken off, we’re paying £335 per month for 2 days a week (8am-6pm) which includes £10 a day consumables. She gets breakfast, lunch, tea and 2 snacks. Nappies, wipes, suncream and milk are all included. I just have to provide nappy cream. After tax free childcare, I paid £270. Based in Kent

We pay £916 for three full days for our 2 year old at the moment (who gets 15 free hours). Dreading the cost in a couple of months when we have 2 children in nursery 🙈 Based in Hertfordshire x

I work in the nursery I’ll be sending my little one to but for 2x full days (8-6) I pay about £200 a month but fortunately I do get a staff discount and the funding included but for some families I know it’s extortionate especially with the extra costs they’ve recently implemented which means the hours aren’t “free” really! X

I'm in Glasgow and it's £225 a week for 5 days - two meals and two snacks a day. That's not counting any of the government hours.

Right.. I am going to make your eyes water.. 5 full days a week will cost me £1400 with the 15 free hrs and some other discount for going to nursery full time. She will start next month. I had her older brothers in nursery at the same time a while back and I paid £2300 back then with sibling discount etc. this is the reason we left a bigger age gap to our youngest and had to have all older siblings in school before we added out last baby to the mix. Based in Hertfordshire.

@Jennifer and that’s how it should be! Properly government funded to enable women to return to work!

1400/month for 3 full days a week, meals included. Government hours not included here yet. London 🥲🥲🥲🥲 it’s madness. Childcare prices in this country are messed up!

My son started nursery yesterday , Tuesdays and Fridays 1-6pm £42.50 a month funded the 15 hours

I’m paying £150ish for 3 mornings (including funded hours spread) and that includes nappies, wipes, breakfast, snack and lunch x

Ours as £380 this month for one full day 7.30-6.15 and morning 7.30-1 a week

That’s cheaper than mine! My daughter will be going 2 days a week & with the funding it’s still going to be £500 a month x

@Michelle I’m not far from you & the government hours are included in my area. I thought it was everywhere now! That’s terrible x

@Emily oh no sorry what I mean is the 1400 is the full fee, I don’t know exactly what it will be after the hours have been deducted! Realise now I wasn’t very clear 🙃 but I don’t expect there to be too much of a difference, they still charge a daily fee on the free days for snacks and other supplies…
