Poorly

Has anyone else had cold/ flu like symptoms in the last trimester and been okay? I’m 36 weeks and I feel rubbish! But more worried about the little one still growing inside me! Any tips on what I can take to feel better? Thankyou! 🩵🩷

Yep currently 39 wks with raging flu. Don’t get me wrong it sucks, I can only take paracetamol after consulting my midwife about what meds to take, if your breathing changes etc and are worried then get checked out. You can use the bumps website for guidance on meds, I’ve been using hot steamy showers to try and naturally decongest, warm drinks with a spoon of honey, paracetamol for temp, staying hydrated and just trying to sweat it out 🙃 so far a week in and still no sign of it clearing BUT I am immuno compromised so I take longer to get over illness, you might be ok in a few days!! Hang in there Xx

@Niomi ahhh sorry to hear that you’re suffering too! It’s the worst isn’t it! I have a midwife appt today. Still need to visit as normal as birth plan chat! 😱. But thankyou! Will try the honey and lemon and hope for the best! Hope you feel better soon! 🩶

Since going into third trimester Iv had three colds/ flu and now have no smell or taste 🙃 The midwife just said my body is giving all its goodness to baby so I’m more susceptible to catching illnesses currently 🤮 Hope you feel better soon♥️

@Shannon they put us through it don’t they! 🥹😂. Hope you feel better soon too! X

Ah I feel for you ❤️ it really is the worst. I had a horrible virus a couple of weeks ago and ended up in hospital with dehydration, then on anti sickness because I was so nauseous 😩 I was 35 weeks and so worried about baby but he was okay on the monitoring. (Still worried though!!) So I would say just keep up drinking and eating as much as possible! Really hope you feel better soon xx

@Lauren ahh thankyou Lauren! Yes trying to get all the fluids in me to make sure I’m hydrated 👀😂 xx

I was in the hospital with pneumonia at 35 weeks, it was hell. Oxygen monitors, steroids and 2 rounds of antibiotics and am FINALLY better. Don’t fret too much, the baby will be ok, the only time mine was upset was when I was dehydrated and her heart rate would go a bit high. Just rest up as much as possible, drink lots and lots of fluids and feel better! Xx
