Digger cake inspiration

I'd like to make my son a digger-themed birthday cake with some cute little digger toys I've bought, however I don't eat chocolate and all the examples I've found online show diggers on chocolate as it looks like mud. Any suggestions or photos for inspiration? I'm thinking a classic sponge with butter icing but no idea on decorations!
