Help with life confidence?

I suffer with anxiety and mild depression. I’ve never told anybody this, and everybody just thinks I’m laidback/lazy. But in reality I procrastinate a lot as I overthink every single thing and put things off. I put things off to the point they become a bigger problem. How can I stop doing this? It’s really affecting my life now I have quite a lot of debt (around £7000 in total, credit card, energy bills) and I have received a final notice letter today from eon which has sent me into a spiral. I KNOW I need to ring to sort it but I find it so sooo hard. Can anybody relate? It makes me feel nauseous having to speak to someone about my debt and I know I will cry on the phone. I wish I was confident and organised and sorted things rather than putting them off 😔

I’ve no advice but i completely relate to all of the above! I’ve only got a little bit of credit card debt now but it did rack up on mat leave and even sorting out a balance transfer to avoid interest was something i kept putting off. I 100% wish i was more organised and proactive but even when i want to sort things out i end up over thinking every last decision then doing nothing about it xx

The debt thing I get I had around 6-7k last year we’ll start maternity in 2022 and although I was paying it it wasn’t until this time last year I started paying off chunks the biggest thing was telling my now husband who’s really good with money so I felt so bad at being a failure with it. Together we came up with a plan on how I pay the money I’ve managed to pay 5k nearly 6k in a year I know I’m lucky he’s supported me to be able to do it. The biggest step is taking the steps to understand how much and how long it will take but when you make those steps you will feel so much better for doing so. It will get better

@vicky it’s horrible isn’t it! I’m going to try and set a plan out for myself. I’ve always been like this but I feel really guilty about it now as I don’t want it to impact my daughters life

Yeah it is! I really hope you get sorted with your debt! Apparently stepchange are really good at helping with things like that so might be worth calling or emailing them if you can face it xx

@Josie I know how much I can afford (not a lot) but it seems so daunting as I expect the businesses will push back and request I pay more. I’m single and was made redundant a couple of months ago so I feel like I’m only just keeping my head above water. Well done, it must feel so good to be clearing it, you’re very lucky to have a husband like that 🩷 yes I know once I start taking baby steps will instantly feel more positive, I’m going to try in the morning. Get the first thing ticked off my list x

The best thing I every did about my depts was getting a Iva as I know pay a monthly amount to each of my depts that they arrange
