just a lonely mama trying to find her village.

why is it so hard to make mom friends ? or maybe it’s just me. my fiancé and i moved to temecula with our son in february and we’ve been going to baby gym class which he absolutely loves. i thought it would be an easy place to meet people bc we are new to the area. i don’t know what it is, if it’s me or something but i can’t get anyone to want to talk or hang out with us. its also incredibly cliquey, to me it seems girl moms only really wanna be friends with other girl moms & boy moms are a bit standoffish? i am a boy mom so maybe im standoffish too? it’s been so discouraging at times seeing new moms join the class and they immediately gravitate to someone and are exchanging numbers for coffee and park dates. i’m feeling left out i guess and i don’t want to feel sorry for myself but it’s so hard to be doing this alone.

I totally feel you on this! It’s really hard to put yourself out there. I’m new to the area too and If it makes you feel better I live in a rural area and I finally saw a mom walking with a stroller when I was driving and I straight up pulled over and desperately and excitedly mentioned if she ever wanted to walk or get our kids together and I got brushed off. I just laughed about it because I must’ve seemed like a maniac but I was SO excited to see a mom with a toddler because our area is an older crowd. I used to go to MyGym and stopped not that long ago. my son is 15 months and I couldn’t lift him or chase him around easily anymore (having baby #2 very soon). I’ll be on lock down for awhile but feel free to message me! Also join Temecula FB groups of you haven’t already. There are so many moms on there looking to connect and people post meet ups and activities and what not! 💜 -Murrieta & Temecula New Moms -Temecula Valley Moms Group

Giiiiirl I’m new to the area. We are up for play dates as we don’t know anyone up here! 🤗

@Jenna congrats on baby #2 so exciting!! we will still be at my gym if & when you and baby are ready for it, my son is almost 13 months! thank you for the fb groups suggestion i’ll definitely check them out

@Drea We would love that!! we should meet up at the one of the plash pads next week it’s going to be so hot 🫠

I would totally love to hang out and stuff but my baby boy has cat allergies which also he gets from the dad side so it’s hard making mom friends that don’t have cats….

I’m going to message you!!!
