Do I need to buy a big present aswell?

I feel awful my LG doesn’t have a ‘big main present’ for her birthday. Do you think they need a big main present for each birthday/christmas? She has 12 presents to open, all lovely thoughtful ones I know she’ll love. And I’m thinking of getting her a scooter for Xmas which will be her big main present. But she she doesn’t have a big main one for her birthday. I guess because I kitted out the garden with toys in summer, there’s no big present I can buy really. But now I’m eyeing up a wheeley bug to go with her birthday present as I feel awful she’s not got a big main present. Am I being OTT? I grew up in care so don’t know what’s the norm - do others always have a big main present for birthdays and Xmas? I know she’s 2 and won’t understand right now but I guess she will as she grows up! Let me know what you’re doing present wise please 🩷 thank you

So our girl’s “main present” is a balance bike. Last Christmas her “main” present was a ride in car. So I guess we do do main presents, but that is only because that’s what I grew up with. Not for birthdays, but for Christmas’s me and my sister would always have a main present last x

I always got one present as a child. I have got my son one smaller present as I did the same as you and bought lots of summer things earlier in the year for the garden (the negative of a September birthday). You have bought your little one much more than I have she sounds very lucky and loved and I wouldn’t worry xx

definitely not! my little boy is 2 the 21st and he doesn’t have a main presents. I remember as a kid the fun things we did not presents xx

Absolutely not. I have got my son a balance bike as his main present but he won't have a main present for Christmas. I tried to avoid toys as it's so close to Christmas and I plan to get loads of toys then. My little boys birthday is 2nd Oct.

Ours has nothing to open from us. He’s had a camera we’ve taken on holiday and some books but he won’t get anything more ‘for the day’ x

My daughters birthday was this week - she’s been obsessed with the balloons I blew up last minute, a bluey figurine and a water colouring book - the £200 balance bike, climbing frame and expensive doll haven’t been looked at twice really dont feel bad - more fool me for buying them in the first place! X

My boy's "main" present is going to be a lightning mcqueen stuffy. His other presents are a bluey floor puzzle and a pikachu electric tooth brush. If you already have a lot of other presents, then you don't need a "main" gift. 12 is a lot already.

My sons main present will be CBeebies world we are taking him to!

I don’t think you have to buy anything crazy expensive or huge, however I fully understand where you’re coming from. We have bought our little one a wooden kitchen, albeit a smaller more basic one. If you feel you want or need to buy something else, maybe you could look at “pop up play tents”? They’re really cheap, there’s some on Amazon for £10-£20 and they literally fold away into a smallish bag and are easy to put up and down. I bought one for my nephew years ago for £20 and honestly it was a favourite among the kids for years. Were at the “making dens” stage and she loves hiding under blankets etc so I might buy one for my little girl either for her birthday or Christmas x

Awwww no don't feel bad my daughter last year got swing n trike we through big party.. yesterday I got her a nomination bracelet, build a bear( birthday one if u didn't no u pay £2 for birthday bear ) easel board... we went monkey forest but she wasn't bothered she got baby annabell of my dad n sister balance bike.... we off away for 6 weeks n sh3 having big birthday with family . We got a cake from costco (massive only £16.49 ) and sung to her ..she gets everything when she needs it mainly

12 presents! Wow, I didn't get my son any actual birthday presents. I do get him toys and clothes throughout the year but I figured he is too young to understand or remember what birthdays are all about. He got presents from friends and relatives which he doesn't even know who they are from or why...I made him a train cake though and had a party although I got the feeling he would have preferred to just watch TV and have ice cream!
