Nursery

My LO is starting nursery for 1st time next week. I had to wait until September so I could get his 15 hours which is when he is entitled to it. Stupid question, but he's doing 2 days 9-3 , does that mean I don't have to pay anything as its covered by the 15 hours? I know that's really daft but my eldest went to a private nursery so the government funded hours didn't really make too much of a dent. Our financial situation is different now so I'm hoping we get the benefit of these hours as it's a termtime only pre school.

No it unfortunately doesn’t mean that. They will charge you fees for food & resources if you’re using the hours. But it won’t be a lot I’m sure. Mine is £15 a week Also some nurseries only allow hours to be used in the morning, so any afternoon time is paid by the hour. Have you asked yours? X

We don't pay anything on top at my daughters pre school. Some will charge for extras though, presumably they would've told you already though

Each setting works slightly differently so you'll have to check with them directly! It's likely you'll pay something even if it's just to cover food.
