Anyone got any happy nursery settling stories?

We’re on week two and it’s not getting easier 😭. My daughter is usually happy, confident and constantly moving. Going to pick her up and just sitting sobbing it too much. The staff are all lovely, and she is excited to go to nursery but she’s so sad when she realises I’m gone. I make a point of saying goodbye but she’s too distracted by being initially excited. I know it’s early days but easy to tell myself it’ll be like this forever. We only do two days a week as well so long periods between each week 💔

It definitely gets easier honestly! And it won’t be like this forever, but I used to think the same. I even considered giving up on going back to work! My LO would get really upset and be screaming with arms outstretched for me when I was dropping her off at nursery for the first few weeks! It was so distressing 😞 But after about a month she just all of a sudden stopped, started getting really excited when she realised we were at nursery, and now (3months in) she can’t wait to get in to the nursery and happily goes to the staff! She has the best time there now! Stay strong mamma, it will get easier for you 😘

It took about a month for us too. My boy is quite shy and wary of new experiences/people but now he's smiling when we drop him off. I found the first month so difficult and made my husband do most drop offs as I got too upset afterwards!

So my son would scream soo. As we got close to his nursery he would try and stay with me it was horrible I lived not even a 10 minute walk away so before I even got home they would send me photos of he laughing and playing. It changes so fast. He would get upset at the end because he's tired and want to be home now but honestly it helped so much for him starting at 3 full time. He loves school now at 5 has so much fun with his friends x

It took 3 months here!

This was me when my girl started nursery but I promise it gets easier! My little girl was like this for a few weeks. And would even cry when I picked her up too. Keep going with it, she will learn to love it and will learn so much from nursery. She will also make friends and find comfort in the staff. It also took my daughter maybe a month before she liked her key worker. My little girl now goes in happy and I pick her up and she’s still happy. She has progressed so much since going and everyone is noticing how much she’s learning and only does 2 days a week too. If you need a chat feel free to message me 🩷 You’re doing great 🩷
