Nursery question - being taken out during holidays?

Hey so my son started nursery this month (which we paid for) but is entitled to the 30 free hours next month Our nursery can’t stretch free hours over the year, it’s only term time, so I’d be paying full price during holidays Anyway I’m wondering if my mum and partner’s mum can have him during holidays so i won’t have to pay Would nurseries allow this? Because I know you pay even if your child is off so don’t know if your child has a place you’re like locked in all year :’)

You can ask them if they’d do term time only, some nurseries do that and they just have less staff (because some have older kids and only work term time)

And I would say if they’re only allowing you to use funding during term time, that this shouldn’t be a problem! Xx

My nursery wouldn’t allow this (they don’t do term time only either), it’s all year round or nothing- as you say, if I take him out on holiday etc then I still pay for his place. You’d have to ask! Mine don’t stretch the funding either, but they do a balanced invoice payment system which basically does what a stretch funding situation would do, I pay the same every month, no huge bill over the holidays.

If you’re term time only for funding then it shouldn’t be an issue as you would have to book holiday cover in addition, so just don’t book for those days

If they only offer funding term time sure they have a term time only contract!
