Tips for deciding on a child minder
Hello, any help appreciated mums. I am currently looking for a childminder. I have one who has been recommended, however am unsure about what to ask, what to see, how to assess that they are good etc. Any help appreciated xxx

I asked what their method of discipline is for if a child does something naughty; hits another child for example… I think you can get quite a good judgement of someone based on how they correct negative behaviour

A lot is gut instinct. We wanted someone that was maternal as my son was 6 months. Do they have other kids and do school pick ups. What meals do they serve. What is their routine ie do they go to groups, the park ect. How much holiday do they take and what notice do they give. What is their deposit or holding fee. We were quite unlucky as two of our cm went on maternity leave so did nursery after that.
