Teacher Assistant

Anybody have any information on becoming a teacher assistant? My son is one year old by the time he starts school. He probably will be five so that gives me four years to become a teacher assistant. I want to take it easy and slow. Any tips tricks or info?

I worked with teacher assistants while I was getting my degree to be a teacher. In my area (SC) none of them had degrees

@Jillian none of the TA?

No, there was one girl in school to become a teacher but most of them just had to have a background check

Online it says you need an associates degree (so 2 years that you could do in 4 if you want to go slow) but honestly I would look into the schools in your area and what they require! :)

I became a TA with no experience, I just applied, and asked me if I had my hs diploma and said I was willing to do the dcf hours and become cpr certified. Most schools don’t require a degree to become a TA bc of how short staffed they are and always hiring.

@Cecilia hmmmm ok

I just started applying for a ton of jobs for that position and all you need is a highschool diploma.
