Why are nursery fees so expensive!! For 3 full days a week, we are being charged £773 A MONTH!! This includes the 15 hours a week government funding 😩 makes me question if working is really worth it

Where are you based? My LO is going 3 days a week and with the funding starting next month we’re paying £500 a month! 🤞🏼

Maaatttteeee, For four full days with funding we are being charged £1444 Windsor. It’s become more expensive after the funding came in. We were paying £1270 for 4 full days before September. It does my head in

Honestly look in to childminders mine goes 3 full days a week £7.50 for 8 1/2 hours take 15hrs off and take tax off we are only paying 255 I use child benefit to pay for most of it and then me an my partner split it. Only thing is she is only term Time. But there are childminders that work through the holidays xx

I had a child minder initially and it was the worst experience of my life. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone

Wow that's a lot. Honestly fees are awful. Ours are £322 a month based on 2 full days a week and that's with the funding too

@Kate I’m based in Norwich. The prices are so horrific! Per full day it’s £77 so 1 day is covered but they stretch the remaining 5 hours throughout the year but we have to pay £20 for the funded day which is ridiculous!

Mine is the same, make sure to set up a tax free childcare account as it will definitely take down the monthly cost

£614 for 4 full days including 15 hours funding in Manchester and I thought that was expensive 😬

We have two in nursery and our bill is just under £2k a month, that’s with 15 hours govt funding for both of them. It’s outrageous

My nursery is £829 a month for 3 days a week but with the funding it’s gonna make a lot of difference x

How many hours a day are full days ? I’m curious

@Celine 10 hours 8-6 but my little one will be doing 9-4 but it’s so annoying they do it by day and not hour

@Louma I live in Sheffield! But my nursery for an under two is £78 a day!

@Kerry that so cheap what do you mean by take tax off ?

We’re going to be £1048 for 4 full days, in Scotland so no free hours until he’s older 😭

I’m in Berkshire, 3 full days after funding is costing us £800 a month! (Before tax free)

@Louma tax free childcare account so we use this and put our money for childcare in it and it adds 20% for example if you put 100 in it tops it up to 120 x

my little boy is going 2 days, 8:45-15:30 and it’s fully covered by the funding, i only need to pay £2.50 a day for food x

I’ve got my child going 2 days a week with funding and it’s about £200 on a 5 week month. My eldest has the 30 hours and we’re paying 72 on a 5 week month. I do get discount for the second though at 20% so it would be about £245ish for a 5 week month for him if I didn’t have that. Still quite affordable in my opinion. But I’m in greater Manchester and my nurseries fees are really reasonable x

Do you top it up with tax free childcare too?
