Is this normal after umbilical cord falls off

As long as the wound isn't weeping I was told it was fine as it is in its healing process. I went with my little boy because his was bleeding but even then they told me it was okay.

I dont think its weeping judt looks red gonna gently clean it on her next nappy change as havent done it yet wanted to leave it alone n not irritate it xx

I wouldn’t get It wet just keep It dry and fold the top of the diaper in so It doesn’t rub!

Been folding nappy was told in hospital to do that xxxx

Looks like an umbilical cord granuloma my son had one. We had to get it cauterized with acid and let it dry up. Painless procedure and it took two weeks for the little lump to shrivel up and fall off

This is normal, happened with my little man, I put sudocrem on it and made sure to fold the nappy underneath, it went after a few days

Is the skin area red? Does it have a smell from an arms length away? Is it constantly oozing? Is the skin around it hot to touch? If no to all the above then it’s healing fine, keep it dry and don’t put anything on it. If any of the above changes contact your GP or maternity x

No skins not red i cant smell anything and no its quite dry judt little ooze xxx

Hv coming home visit in 2 days ill ask them keep an eye out in mean time xx

Then I wouldn’t say it’s infected or there is any problem. It’s probably just red on the area because it’s part of the healing process. Just keep an eye out but it should be fine :) x

Is it if the redness spreads away from belly button ? Xxx
