Some nursery’s have flexi contracts for people who work shifts or have childcare similar to you. From what I remember the day rate for flexi is usually more
My nursery would accommodate it as an extra day but only if they have the space available. You'd probably to have to ring around the local ones and see if anyone could accommodate
Also re the funding. You can’t use the funding for the entire session. So for a morning session you can only use 3.5 hours or something similar. Thats how it is at my daughter’s nursery anyway. Might be different at other’s.
I think child minders also take the gov funded hours so that might be a better option?
Most nursery make you do every week but some childminder will allow changed for shift workers
You’d be best calling up nurseries in your area and asking as each will do if different! Some also have a minimum set of hours kids have to attend for example mine is minimum 18 hours a week. The funding will stretch to 11 hours a week as most nurseries are open like 50 odd weeks in the year but at mine it’s 5.5 hours that can be used on the days to allocate funding so ours is doing 2 days a week 8-6pm one day and then 8-5pm another day and then where funding isn’t covered we pay the difference still a lot cheaper. Also you won’t be eligible for funding until the September of the year your baby turns 9 months! so ours is starting nursery in July 2025 but won’t actually get the funding until September 2025 so we have to pay 2 months full price of nursery fees for the allocated days until September that year.
You would have to keep the monday morning all the time but just use it when you need it. I believe. That's what I've known to happen
