Any ladies in college with little ones? How are you handling childcare?

What are you ladies doing for childcare while in school? Class start this week and my anxiety is on 1000% None of the classes I need is offered online and I’m my daughters main caregiver. I am waiting to hear back to see if there’s any accommodation for mothers at my university. As far as I know there’s no on campus care and honestly can’t afford to pay to go elsewhere. I have looked into Tanf and Medicaid options to cover costs but most places near home are not taking that form of payment. The facilities that are cheaper I don’t feel safe to leave her with. This my first semester back and I feel like I’m drowning in stress already.

Can her dad help? Honestly I don’t think I could do it if it wasn’t online. There’s just not enough help. Luckily mines is fully online

I had a girl come over for the number of hours I’d be gone like 4-5-6 flexible and had a nanny cam

@Alissa Her dad works full time and don’t get off until 5 or 6pm. Way after my classes are over.

No grandparents can’t help? I have both in person and online but my grandma helps me with my daughter I don’t what if do without her help

@Aleena Martinezz I live 3hrs from them and they currently take care of my sister 3 kids. If they were closer that would def be an option.

My baby is ten months and I was attending school before and during my pregnancy. It wasn’t easy but I’m glad it was solely online. I even completed an essay while in labor. I am also my daughter’s main caregiver. My school doesn’t offer child care as well but again I have to option to attend school online. I would see if your professors are okay with you having your baby in class until you find another solution. Are you also working as well?

I only do online classes due to this. My daughter goes to daycare while I work during the day and then after I pick her up I do my homework. If you can do only online classes that’s your best bet because you can work at your own pace and also be with your child

@Chy I was thinking about bringing her to class for the time being. I’m not working currently I do work from home here and there.

Weeeww when I tell you I’m on 1,000 with you!!!!!! Girl Pregnancy was hard in school. I took 6 classes and worked at a daycare. My next semester started while I was In labor, and so classes with a newborn was tough …. Trying to sleep heal and learn the baby… now he’s about to be 7 months and so far I start my hw around 2 am like rn ( but it’s been a rough day so I’m not doing shit rn ) But idk about accommodations for mom I have disability accommodations for migraines . It gives me a little extra days to be late on assignments. I do online course , and graduate next semester What are the requirements for Tanf? I wanted to look into but idk anyone who’s had it
