When can I run again after a prolapse?

I had a mild prolapse after giving birth 7 months ago. My symptoms were decreasing and I was feeling good, so around 4,5 months post partum I increased the intensity of my work out and tried to do a higher impact training to get back into running. It turned out that was too quick, because my prolapse symptoms came back and I still feel this annoying pressure daily (now almost 8 months post partum). Does anyone have a similar experience? Will symptoms decrease over time or do I really need to do kegels? And will I ever be able to do higher impact sports like running again?

Hey, when you say “do I really need to do kegals?” Does this mean you haven’t been doing pelvic floor exercises? If not, I would highly recommend doing them, and seeing a pelvic health physiotherapist if you can ♥️

I heard the rule for kegals and pelvic floor excercises is 3 times a day for 3 months and then once a day for the rest of your life.

@Lorna I have been doing them, but have a lot of trouble with being consistent. I downloaded the squeezy app yesterday so I hope that the reminders help!

@Dee I didn't know that I should do it daily for the rest of my life! Good to know, so I can have more realistic expectations!

Girl kegelllllllll. They also have little weight trainers that I hear are pretty awesome you can get some nice ones on Amazon. But consult with your doc first as not to damage things any further.

If you google postpartum return to running there’s loads of exercises (isometric glute strengthening usually) and tests you can do . Pelvic pt will help too as will postnatal pelvic and core rehab
