Tax free childcare account help!

I’d really appreciate some help. I’ve applied for the UK tax free childcare but I just don’t understand where I’m supposed to pay my money to have the government top it up. Googling this sends me in circles and I keep logging into my account but there is no where to deposit money? Please help!

So you take your invoice from nursery and deduct 20%. So eg if you have to pay £100, you deduct 20%, so you would pay £80 into the tax free account. The gov then automatically add the remainder and you’ll see £100 in your account. You then pay your nursery from that account. To deposit money you either need to transfer cash from your bank account or set up a standing order. The details will be in your letter/secure message

Yeah it’s bizarrely complicated! The account details are in the my account section (I think under manage account?) - you pay in from your bank account and then it’ll show up in the TFC account a little later with the top up automatically applied. Then from there you can pay your provider :)

Go to you account, click on tax free childcare account, select manage account and you'll be able to pay in from there. If you select pay money in, then you can get the account details to set up a standing order from your bank account. Hope that helps.

The account details are on the page if you press manage account or you can use a debit card
