Mine is £2k (£1k each) a month for 5 days after funding or £2400/£1200 without funding! Funding barely reduces it
How does exactly work childcare in the uk? Can you explain the options?
I’m currently at £1080/1200 (depending on if it’s a 4 or 5 week month) for just 2 days a week for 1 kid 🤦🏼♀️
It’s ridiculous
@Ivana from September, all children of working parents over the age of 9 months, get 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year 'free' a lot of nurseries charge a fee per funded hour (mine is £1 per hour). This increases to 30 hours a week when they turn 3. The funded hours only apply from the term after they turn 9 months/ 2 years. The 15 hours for 9m+ will increase to 30 hours from Sept 2025. Non working/1 working families get 15 hours funding but I'm not sure what age this starts at
@Sarah you pay £1200 a month for 2 days a week??? That’s insane. My son goes 3 days a week and I pay £350 (I think it’s about 420 or so without funding)
@Rachael that’s London for you 🤦🏼♀️ £126 a day per kid, it’s a killer 😥 pregnant with baby 2 so looking forward to some funding at some point
@Sarah that is madness! I’m in Essex and I thought mine was expensive 😂 are you doing the tax free childcare and have funding for your LO? (I can see they are only a few months younger than mine!) x
@Rachael doing the tax free but I don’t get the funding until next month when she’s 2 and 4 months. She wasn’t 2 in April for the funding round so we’ve had to wait till September!
@Sarah ugh that’s so annoying! I can’t believe how much you have to pay, absolutely bonkers!
Mines just over £1000 for 3 days a week term time only it’s ridiculous 🤦🏻♀️
@Rachael this is so cheap!!! My little boy goes 3 long days and it’s 1100ish
And to think in Sweden it’s free 😭
From September my little boy is doing 1 full day and 1 half day a week and that's costing me £100pw and then on top of that an extra £15pw sustainability fee

@Rachael ooops typo. 3 days
That’s cheap!!
@Rachel mine goes Mondays 8:30-4, Tuesdays 8:30-5 and Fridays 8:45-4 so it’s not technically full day! But because of the 15 hours of funding most of it gets subsidised!
It’s 1500 per month for my twins to go 3 days per week!
For how many days?
