Advice please

I’m currently going through my first miscarriage and trying to weigh up the different options, I was just hoping for some advice/experiences on medication management and the D&C surgery, I have no idea what to expect and so nervous 😥 I’m currently booked in for surgery on Wednesday but I just don’t know if it’s the right decision!

Hi there. So sorry for your loss I am also experiencing the exact same thing, it’s awful. When I found out I decide to choose the tablets but when I got home I’d heard such awful things about other women’s experiences I scared myself. So I rang the clinic and changed to the surgery and I’m having that tomorrow. I’ve heard very positive things about the surgery and most women who have had the other options say is the ‘best’ one out of them all. I’m happy to give you a message when I have had my surgery to let you know what it’s like? I know all women are different. I’m Terrified!! xx

@Katie sorry to hear you are going through it too 😔 it’s just so hard to make a decision when you don’t want to make it in the first place! I’m meant to be going on holiday in 10 days which is another reason I’ve swayed more towards surgery, in the hope that it’s the ‘easiest’ to recover from. yes please I would be really grateful if you could message me after, I hope all goes well for you 😔 xx

I also was due to go on holiday and I still went, had a great time with my family and then came home to get ready for the surgery. The thing that made me decide surgery is that I don’t think I’d cope very well with the bleeding & pain of the natural or medicated way, and also with the surgery there’s a higher chance that all of the tissue has been removed. You can choose to be either awake or put to sleep with the surgery & I chose being put to sleep and it’s my first time so I’m petrified! Yes I will definitely give you a message. Thank you xx

Can I just warn you Ladys that having DnCs can cause womb scaring and cause something called ashmens syndrome which can cause infertility in the future, so even though it’s easier routine in regards to pain ect it’s has risks and also there’s a risk of tissue being left behind and need no repeat procedure or medicine anyway… iv had one DnC in the past a refused a second with my last miscarriage that was a blighted ovum I went the medication routine and even though tork longer to pass everything it was safer in regards to my fertility and I’m now currently 7 weeks pregnant xx

I have had 2 miscarriages. The first I had medical management which was days of pain and the worst part was not knowing when it would be over and I really struggled. The 2nd I had surgery and although it was scary, I personally found it much better for me as it was all dealt with physically on the day.

Hey! I'm so so sorry for your loss, finding out our baby was no longer alive was the hardest experience of my life. I had D&C 23 days ago under local anaesthetic. I won't lie to you, I found it very emotional and quite painful, but I don't have a high pain threshold. My husband got to stay with me through the whole thing, I had my blood pressure taken at 8.10 and was home by 3pm (we live 45mins from the hospital. I bled for around 12 days with some period cramping for around 3 days. My bleeding wasn't consistent, it stopped twice for two days. I personally couldn't do medical management as I know I'd find it quite triggering with my previous mental health difficulties and we were due to go away 10 days later. Sending lots of love xxxxx

Hello I have had the surgery and I’m happy to speak to you about it if you message me privately xx

Hello, I don't know if it's an option for you but I went for an MVA last week and, for me, it was the best of the bad options. Feel free to message me if I can be of any help at all

So sorry for your loss. I had the surgery which unfortunately failed and then had the medication. Both for me personally were fine. I did have strong period cramps and minimal bleeding. But when I had my first proper period it lasted for around 5 weeks
