Nursery settle session to deep end!

Has anyone's little one had a quick succession of settle in session one day and then the next day straight in for a while day? Had this been okay for your little one? I can't blame the nursery here as they have been having a big refurbishment but we've just organised a 1 hour settle session for Tuesday and then Wednesday straight in. Am I just being an anxious mum and need to get over myself? Will bubba be okay with this?

We are currently going through settle sessions with my little one. Our nursery recommended the introduction to be done over 6 weeks and gradually extend the time that he stays in . So far he is doing well . I guess it depends on when are you going back to work

@Monika Thats great you get all of that time! I'll literally be in work Wednesday 🙈 Her dad is about as he works from home. Just seems rushed to me and before they had said she can have as many settle sessions as needed. Whether it's the refurb that's ballsed everything up I don't know but I don't feel happy about it!

Just ask the nursery for longer settle period .

I’d say this is very rushed, will be a massive adjustment for baby. You’re definitely not being anxious. I think how much of an adjustment it will be depends on baby. We had 8 settling in session in total, extending the time each one. But honestly my boy would have been fine after 2/3. From day one he loved it. But he’s not overly clingy to just me, has strong attachments to multiple family members and is used to being looked after by others too. So he settled in quick and developed strong attachments to the workers too. He’s very sociable in general. I know some babies need a very long adjustment period x

We ramped up over 5 days, and in week 2 we’re still picking him up earlier than we have to and dropping later. He’s def tired at nursery. Perhaps your partner could collect earlier?

My little girl did 4 2/3 hour settling ins over 2 weeks, but she absolutely loves going , I’m still anxious when she goes as it’s only been 12 weeks and I’m that time she’s had gastroenteritis and chicken pox xxx

We had three settling sessions (30 mins I stayed, 1 hour I had the choice and left, 90 minutes I had to leave) on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He was in for the whole day the following week. We had no issues but I think that is partly due to his age at the time (3 months so too young to understand my leaving perhaps) and his being generally laid back. It's hard to say how it will go as all babies are different.

My boy did 3 days phased and then was all in!

Mine had half hour settling session as they told me that’s all he would need and he settled in brilliantly when he went for a full day x

Thank you all. It's good to see varied perspectives. I guess we shall have to see how it goes and at our settle session I will talk to staff about going in for a full day the following day might be a lot and can Dad do an early pick up if she struggles. I'm sure they'll accommodate us but I did expect a little better organisation from them as they did mention earlier in the year about having as many as needed. Although it could be just the one session she needs but who knows! Xx

@Chloe Oh this gives me hope! That's brilliant that he was able to settle the next day so well. I hope my little girl is the same 🤞 Thank you for sharing xx

We had 5 or 6 settles over 2 weeks.
