Nursery funded places

I need some help with the funded places, so my daughter got the 'golden ticket' when she was in nursery but for some reason it's telling me now my son isn't eligible for it! I'm so stressed! My partner works, I don't at the minute but I attend job center appointments (till I'm back at work) and they havnt told me other wise that I wouldn't get funding for my son. I'm so confused and stressed because if I don't get the funded place I won't be able to go back to work as easy. Any help/advice would be amazing!

You both need to be working to claim the funded hours, if you can provide evidence you’re starting work in the next 45 days I think it is - maybe check how long - you can claim them

Hello! I’m a nursery manager so deal with funding alot. What age is your child? Are you applying for 9month funding? Both parents need to be working to be eligible for this which may be which it is rejecting your application. As soon as you are in work you will be able to apply and be accepted

You both need to be working over 16 hours (I think) to get it x

You can get 15hrs funded once your son turns 2 x

How old is your son ? If he is 3 then you would get 15 hours free and 30 hours if your both working. It depends on why your daughter received the funding , if it’s for additional needs then it wouldn’t apply to your son.

Your local council should have a children’s centre or family well being centres and you can join and ask them for advice.

@Leah my son is two, he turned two April this year💙

@Frank he is two and it's saying he's not eligible

You’re not entitled to the funding because you don’t work ATM! Annoyingly you fall in the small group where you don’t get the original 2 year funding because your household income is probably over the threshold and can’t get the new 2 year funding because you’re not in employment!! It’s infuriating Once your child turns 3 the term after you’ll be entitled to 15 hours

If any of the below applies to your situation contact your local council to discuss accessing the early years education at 2! • Income Support • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) • Universal Credit - if you and your partner are on a low income from work (usually a combined income of less than £15,400 a year after tax) • guaranteed element of State Pension Credit • Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit (or both), AND your household income is £16,190 a year or less before tax

@Chloe I'm assuming by this your meaning the old 2 year old funding which was given when you have lower income or in receipt of certain benefits...I'm assuming your partner earns over the 17k otherwise you'd still be entitled even if your not working.
