Nursery curriculum?

Hi everyone! My LOs nursery provider changed in May and since then it seems the activities changed as well; not sure if this happened due to the weather or so, as he is still in the same group of kids - with the very little babies (0 to 2 yo class). Before he would come back all dirty from various activities but now he comes back all clean and it doesn't seem they do much activities apart from singing, playing outside and maybe with water or bubbles. Should I ask, or is there a curriculum nurseries should have and share for such a small age group? He is only there for 3 to 5 hours/ day, 5 days a week but I would like to know what activities they do. Or am I too demanding?

I there should be a loose curriculum but it doesn't say what activities it should be.

It’s depends on the provider but some nursery’s are starting to get restrictions on what they can use for certain ages

You’re not too demanding, it’s showing an interest just asking what he’s been up to in a day. My girls nursery are very busy and do at least one “learning” led activity a day and spend a lot of time outside/music/play doh etc. But my nephews nursery is child led so he hardly does anything because why would he choose to if he’s not being asked or shown 🫣 he is in a room for 0-2 as well whereas my girl is in 1-2 so they are much more active x

My daughter is in 0-2 and she does lots of painting, they do tuff trays, lots of water play. They’re outside a lot. They have circle time. They play music in the background and have dance parties, they have what’s in my basket as well. My daughter comes back covered a lot of the time. Sometimes she’s not had a change and sometimes she’s clean it just depends on the day really. Not demanding at all. You have an interest in what your child is being or rather not being taught etc. I always ask if my daughters had a good day and they walk through the day. We don’t dwell on food etc as they have an app they post all that too. You’re well within your rights.

At that age they won’t follow a curriculum as such. However they should be engaging in all types of play. Have a look at the EYFS statutory framework or even the development matters document you can access on twinkl. They may have topics that they follow to incorporate all areas of learning but it’s not a ‘curriculum’ as such.

Thank you everyone for taking from your time to reply. We ask about how each day was, and they tell us if he enjoyed or was unsettled. They inform us if they observe any issue or development. But I just dont think they do much in terms of sensory play, creative activities etc as they used to with the other provider. They do lots of role play and singing and outdoor play, but more i dependent rather than engaged if this makes sense. Its just I was hoping they do all this so at home we do more of what they do now, play outside etc as tbh I am rubbish at sensory play and all that. Maybe later on, but nevertheless ill ask what type of activities they do and to safe anyone from feeling awkward Ill say it would be good to understand so I know what type of clothes he should wear 🤦🏻‍♀️
