Going back to work. Single parent & on UC
I really want to go back to work now that my daughter is 1 but I don’t really know how to go about getting childcare?
Am I right in saying I can only get 15 hours free? And where can I look to get this?
I’m a bit stuck just need advice please?

You can get 15 hours from September and then 85% on top of the 15 hours. Pop into your local job centre and they’ll be able to give you a little help. You will need to pay for the childcare and you get it back for following month, you will need invoices etc to send to UC x
@Kiera she won’t get the 15 funded hours, as you have to be in work before the end of August. She won’t be eligible now until January for the 15 hours, but can apply for the Tax Free Childcare.
@Emily ah yes of course; I presumed she was off unpaid at the end of maternity. She would still be able to claim the 85% from UC x
