Nursery funded hours

I applied for the 15 hours funded childcare and was approved. I signed my daughter up to 1 and 1/2 days at nursery (so just the funded hours). I was expecting to pay £7 a day for nappies/food etc but I’ve just received my first month’s invoice of £200+ ? This doesn’t include the registration fee / deposit of £300 I paid last month so I’m a bit confused!

Are they going all year round? If so it looks like they have taken what it will cost for the holidays and spread it over the year maybe? Funding is only for term time. Plus they are doing 15.5 hours not 15 so there will be the 30 mins a week to pay for.

Like above it looks like youre going all year so it would work out 11.4 hours funded per week for the whole year as the 15hours is spread over the year. If thats the case youre paying for that extra per week making it up to 15.5hours. Speak to your nursery and get them to explain x

Your invoice is for extra 12.5 weeks which are unpaid. 15 free hours are only funded for 38 weeks (term time only)

Thanks girls that’s helpful, I think they spread the 15 hours to make it 11.4 hours makes sense now!

It looks like they are doing stretched hours as mentioned above but you can double check with them to ask them to clarify. The funded hours are for term time only as mentioned above. The nursery should have a clear fee structure which they should be able to provide you with if you ask for it.

That looks about right We do tow full days and it’s 340 with the funded hours as I have split them over the whole year as I don’t want to even start thinking about half terms and work 😂
