Settling in session at nursery

What happens at these? We have one tomorrow morning for an hour, I've asked them a million questions already and I've forgotten if I'm meant to stay or leave her? I know I'll find out when I get there but I'm just curious!

Mine was for 3 hours so I left- im Not sure about yours as it’s just an hour? Maybe you’re expected to play with her for a little bit and then wait in the car? X

My son had two, the first one for an hour (with you) and the second was about 1.5 hours including lunch, on his own without us. The first one we just sat with him while he explored the toys.

We had three. First one was half an hour and I stayed, second was an hour and I left (had the choice) and third was 90 minutes and had to leave.

My first one I get to stay. The other 8 (!!) she is left there.

We had 8. First two I stayed with him for an hour. Third one I stayed for 20 minutes then left him for an hour, then the rest he stayed for 4 hours x

Varies slightly from place to place. We had 2 sessions, about 2 hrs each. On the first one we spent the first hour answering lots of questions about LB, likes, dislikes, routine, comfort items, who he is close to in the family etc (it's a whole document they fill in and took an hour purely because we were nattering with the lady as all the other kids were asleep). During that time he was allowed to basically have free reign in the room to explore but we were there for reassurance. 2nd half we left to get a drink at the cafe nearby and he stayed to play as the others woke up. 2nd visit we just dropped him off, gave them a quick note of when he last slept and ate so they knew if he needed a nap or snack. Then into full days.

We have 5 booked in, of increasing length. It's bright horizons. The first was an hour and we stayed - just sat doing paperwork while baby explored the room and played with the staff and other kids. For the others we have to leave her there. The second was meant to be today, for two hours, but she's got a temperature so is missing it. Hope this doesn't affect her settling. I liked having more sessions booked in to give her a gradual intro ...
