Pregnancy supplement suggestions

I’ve been using Pregnacare plus (the ones that contain omega, multivitamins + folic acid) but at times they make me feel sick and the pills are too big to swallow so sometimes get stuck in my throat then causes me to throw up. I’ve missed many days because of this and worried that missed dosages of folic acid is harmful? Any other brand suggestions for pregnancy supplements?

I switched to boots which has folic acid and vitamin D. Felt so much better having changed.

Pregnacare were awful for me and made me very bloated due to iron. I’ve changed to prenatal gummies now which contain folic acid and all the rest of the vitamins (excluding iron only) and it’s made such a big difference. Maybe look into that if it’s easier or alternatively look for another brand? I heard proceive is quite good? 🙏🏻

Can your midwife help? I’d been taking pregnacare but was given the NHS standard vits (folic, c and d) and they’re great. And free so even better! Might be worth asking

I got loads of the NHS ones free at my booking appointment

@Rachel i got told to take those ones they give for free and also extra 5mg of folic acid is that normal if its already in the free ones

@Lisa I’m unsure sorry. I’ve not been told to take any extra folic acid other than what’s in the generic tablets but if you’ve been told by a medical professional to take extra then I’d do so :)

@Rachel thank you i found it odd as never had to do that with my son x
