Metformin

Anyone had metformin for gestational diabetes look like it’s working to bring the blood sugar levels down for the first week or so and then just go back to being high? What I eat doesn’t make a difference they’re so up and down!

I’m on 3 x 500mg per day and it took a few weeks to have a real effect, they were debating putting it up again because levels went up but went back down again. I found the heat and being Ill really effected mine

Yeah I’m on slow release ones, take one after breakfast and 2 in the evening. Got my check up on Wednesday so will see what they say

Yeah I was put on metformin almost straight away after being diagnosed, 2 weeks later it was increased, and now I'm on 29 units of insulin. It's a constant battle between the medication working and your hormones fighting the medication. Totally normal. Don't stress about it, you can only control you're diet. So if that's all good then let them sort out the meds side of it. They'll soon tell you if you aren't eating the right things etc x
