GYM?

Hey girlies! I’m yet to have my 6-8 week check up by my GP (I am 7 week pp) however I’m desperate to get back to the gym. Has anyone else gone back yet? Or does anyone know good exercises to start easing back in again?

I’m 7 weeks pp also, I’m a runner and have been brisk walking as they say you need to strengthen pelvis and core until 12 weeks! I need to run to clear head and me time lol 🤪 My friend has gone back to the gym she’s 4weeks ahead of me.

I’m 5 wks PP. I know your meant to wait till 6 but I’ve started back the gym. X

I went back to the gym at 5 weeks PP with a PT session to make sure I wasn't pushing myself too much. Haven't done any ab exercises yet but upper body, lower and cardio has been absolutely fine. Xx

I’m 7 weeks would love to get back to exercising but waiting a little longer. I think the two concerns are pelvic floor and joints. If you exercise too early without paying attention to your pelvic floor strength you can cause or worsen a pelvic organ prolapse. Post partum your ligaments remain loose for up to 5 months so the recommendation is no high impact activity. I’m certainly not waiting 5 months but I would listen to your body if any of your joints are sore, achey or lax and maybe adjust your exercise.

I started doing some dance type workouts from YouTube at 3weeks (taking it easy) and been building up my stamina again planning the gym after my checkups. I'm only waiting because I had a suspected prolapse before birth so want to make sure that's all good before I start pushing myself too much

I’ve started doing the postnatal program from the sculpt society, the first 6 weeks are pelvic floor & core recovery. Would recommend to ease your way back in to exercising! https://thesculptsociety.com

i went back around 5 weeks PP but is my first proper time giving the gym a go. my main goal is to lose the baby weight and tone up so i’ve been doing glute exercises and little cardio. i don’t feel i’ve overworked myself but of course it is tiring while doing the night feeds and not being in the best shape due to pregnancy x

I started this morning, after a C section, I couldn’t jump on the jump box, like not feeling the coordination at all, but was so good to move again

Thankyou girlies, I think I’ll start going back to the gym tomorrow but I will ease in gently and not go straight into HIIT workout. I appreciate everyone’s advice xxx
