Nursery funding

My son is starting nursery in September, he’s been allocated a place. My husband works full time, I’m unemployed. Will my son automatically get the 15 hour free funding or do we have to apply for it? I’m confused because I can’t seem to find anything online to fill out (only for the 30 hours)…

15 hours is universal so no need to apply! All children at this age get it regardless, it’s only the 30hrs you need to apply for x

You still need to apply for it through the gov childcare site to get a code for the nursery. Your nursery should be able to give you a link to the site or search gov childcare account and set up through there. It’s the same place you will find your tax free childcare

@Laura thank you for replying! Just wondering… we haven’t done anything, except apply for a place at the nursery and he’s been accepted for the free 15 hours. Are there any forms we must fill in for the government funding or can he just turn up (kind of like going to school)? Xx

@Holly you’ll need to do a funding form for the nursery! They’ll need it to check your eligibility x

@Laura do you know where to find that? Xx

@Holly the nursery should give you a copy! I’d ask for it cos there are tight deadlines
