For babies that aren't eligible in September for the 15 free hours, how and when are we supposed to apply for January.

I know this is unhelpful but I have no clue either, my little one starts early at the beginning of September and the nursery she’s going to said that once she starts they’ll send me all the info on how to do it, so maybe ask the place you’re planning to send them to?

You can apply online now. Just give the code to your nursery and they sort it all. That's what mine has advised anyway but who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve already got my code eventhough she’s not eligible until January, you just apply online on the gov website, you can apply for tax free childcare at the same time

From what I understand it depends on 2 things. 1. When your child turns 9 months and 2. When you're returning to work.

Go to the website childcare choices. This is a government website you put in the details of your baby and it will figure out when you can qualify for the three hours. It will also then tell you when you can apply for the three hours and it will send you notifications of when it’s open.
