Tax free childcare

Do you still get the tax free childcare when you start getting the funded hours?

Yes :) your childcare provider will tell you what’s left to pay and you just pay it in the normal way through the gov website x

@Julie Hey, thank you for your reply. Yeah so I have just received my new monthly payment amount so then I just minus 20% from that and submit that through my gov account? Sorry it’s like a minefield trying to keep up with it all xx

Yes exactly this

The government will give you what is essentially a bank account. You put the amount payable to the nursery in that account and organise payment to them from that account. When you've added the money, the government will add a top up to the same account. You don't pay the nursery less, you get the money back into the account from the govt. You can let that build up then or withdraw it. We are leaving it there as it will pay towards future invoices! So say your bill is 500. Add 500 and set up a payment from that account to the nursery for 500. The government will give you a share of that 500 into the account which you can withdraw back into your bank account or save in there.
