Gym?

I was wondering when you’re allowed to go to the gym after the baby and I’m assuming weights are obviously out of bounds for a while but does anyone know around how long you should avoid that? When is it possible to get back in to a full gym routine

It’s going to be completely dependent on the individual sorry. I’d check with your doctor at your 6 week check who will be able to advise what is suitable- however I imagine each body and women will be different and you’ll need to build your strength back up very slowly

I started at 6 weeks and I still lift a little ... I'm no where i used to be but the recomp gonna be wild lol

I started going back 3 months pp and started with weights that were what I was lifting in pregnancy and slowly increased

You want to be cleared first, which will usually be at your post partum check up You should start with core/pelvic floor exercises, fix any diastasis recti you may have (not everyone gets it) Once you feel comfortable you can move on to light weights & build your way up back to a full gym routine

Safe 6 to 8 weeks postpartum. As a PT id discourage Weight training for now. Definitely add in core strengthening exercises to rebuild pelvic floor and abdominal muscles
