If the bill is due by the 22nd of the month before then surely it’s a little obvious you need to pay for September by the 22nd August? It’s very common to pay in advance. I pay for my eldest childminders much further in advance (eg Septembers fees were due by 1st August).
@Marie well yeah obviously 🙄🙄🙄 I’m just asking if this is common as I would of expected for Septembers to be delayed slightly to after settling in days/first few weeks to make sure that everything was going ok incase of any issues.
@Rachel makes sense I suppose as I only paid a very small deposit to hold her space
Ah right. Unfortunately I think you’ll find a clause for at least one months notice payable regardless of attendance. They’re often running to tight margins and need to pay their costs and staff etc. If you want to defer payment you could ask as they may agree. We had the sale of our house fall through and lost a month of childcare fees in the new location, but when we finally moved the old nursery (a Busy Bees) refunded us the days we didn’t use even though it made it less than a months notice (very long waiting list so image they instantly filled the space).
Yes I had to pay upfront for August and my little girl does not start until next week. I was more annoyed this was not communicated to me so was a shock when I received an invoice to my email. Same situation on mat leave until next month so not looking forward to the next invoice I will receive in the next 2 weeks for September 🙄
I had to pay £350 to hold the days I wanted, but no bills yet. He's starting 11th Sept
