I would just look locally to you and maybe visit a few and see what you like. With my first I opted for a childminder as she was 9m and a preferred the smaller group and more homely environment.

My LO starts nursery in September and we've started our settling in sessions. When choosing a nursery I Googled what was close by, then looked at reviews/Ofsted as well as going for a visit. We then put his name down on the waiting list. You can fill in all the forms online for the free hours/tax free childcare. It was fairly straightforward, though it's taking a while for things to process atm. Hope that helps x

I just researched local ones to see if I liked the look of them, then I looked at their ofsted report. Checked if they had availability and had a look around. We paid a holding fee to secure her place and we get 3 weeks free of charge settling in sessions starting in October :)
