Living terrarium questions

My daughter is really interested in a terrarium with plants and some bugs. Does anyone have experience with this? What should I buy or where do I buy it?

Snails are pretty fun to have in a small terrarium. Just need to make sure it’s water tight since they need high humidity. Organic top soil from any hardware store. Micheal’s has a good selection of small decorations. Isopods(Rollie Pollies) would be great too

There are really cute miniature frogs. I follow a lot of those on FB and YouTube. You can even make one with a giant mason jar.

Plants, you can prolly get at your local pet shop/fish shop

Thank you both! Is there particular places to get snails, isopods? She’s only 5 so I’m going to be taking care of it until she’s older but she’s very interested in bugs and animals. She currently wants to be a “bug scientist” so I’m trying to support that joy in her.

No one responded so I'll just say: It's summer! Rollie pollies be EVERYWHERE and snails can be found in the right kind of moist environment, and I say this as someone who has lived in LA and NYC. Find a park, ideally with a creek, near you, take your little one, and make a trip out of it! It'll be so much more fun for both of you that way!

Definitely check outside! Also there are people who ship but has to be in the same state. Let me know if you can’t find any! I have experience shipping snails and reptiles 😅
