Not bf here but formula, I still have to give my daughter vitamin d. She had such high bilirubin levels my dr told me to continue to give them until 6 months. But every baby is different. I don’t know if you switch sides during feeds or feed one side pump the other. But my brain is going to if you switch sides, give the other side the other .5?
Mine is 5 drops a day so I sterilise a teaspoon and give it to her that way
I got these drops initially and completely gave up on them because of the amount needed, such a faff! I've switched to some that need only 5 drops a day
Get D drops- it is only one drop a day and a lot easier x
@Chrystina i feed from one breast per feed and therefore the whole dose would have to be given while he is nursing on that side. The problem is, he gets full before i finish giving the drops. 🤷♀️
@Ana what drops are they? these cant be given direct.
@Yasmine yes, im starting to think of swapping them out. what a pain! which ones do you use?
@Julia I have a brand of vitamin d drops that’s only one drop per day
@Chrystina what brand please?
Baby d drops. It was $15 but that was in my local city market in Colorado. I don’t know the prices elsewhere
@Julia it’s the one the HV gives out. https://www.superdrug.com/health/vitamins-supplements/childrens-vitamins/healthy-start-childrens-vitamin-drops-10ml/p/471403?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADp4mz8H00FEEdzONVohmBoTjHKDk&gclid=CjwKCAjwnqK1BhBvEiwAi7o0X1kFghKveUm2A-uHIvnAvoC6hPih5aY_neKXwETxV_IofskOPYUHRhoCHW4QAvD_BwE
@Julia same as Ana I use the ones the health visitor gives me as they're free! Otherwise, I would buy the Baby D ones as they are only 1 drop per day (but apparently quite pricey)
What I did was slide it into the cheek while she’s eating so when she sucked she also sucked the vitamin D out it’s a little messy but she got it
