Postnatal depression

Anybody else just sick of the same routine, same thing day in day out.. can't go anywhere without my partner as I don't have a car.. no money.. we haven't been on holiday in a few years.. never got any plans & when we do go out it's just so much stress with the kids! I've just had enough. My partner doesn't get it I'm in the house 24/7 our town has nothing to do it's crap! But with having no holiday/plans it's really making me feel depressed.. especially when all my friends & family are going on holiday. Yes I may sound like a brat but I need something to look forward to for a purpose.. I don't think it is pd but just the fact I have nothing to look forward to or nothing to do etc... anyone else in the same boat??

I feel like this also 100% agree with you! Same shit different day. X

If you’re on universal credit there’s discounts for some place (RHS gardens, zoo etc), maybe see if you’re close to anything? Also in sunny weather going for a walk is nice if you can find any green spaces, make it feel more special by having some ice cream from home so you don’t need to spend money outside. + It makes sense to feel upset you’re not in a position to go abroad, you can still make something feel special, like having a picnic? Do you have any family/friends you can visit to break up the monotony? It’s easier said than done but try to find small things that matter to you, eg you can use oats to feed squirrels/ducks in the park? Maybe get a small project like growing mint on a windowsill?

Do you have a pushchair/pram? Getting our first walks really helps the mind as well as fresh air for you and baby, if you have a library close by you could walk to theybare great to go to and often run baby classes that are free or £1, there will also be free baby groups around if any are walking distance. Maybe a friend or family member could visit or drive you and baby out somewhere. Sorry just throwing some ideas out there xx

@Lauren it's enough to send you insane isnt it! Like there's only so much walking to town or the park u can do! X

@Hannah I am yes but unfortunately all those places are not near me. I'm really struggling meeting up with people lately as I just can't bring myself to have a convo.. I've been avoiding meeting up with friends because of how I'm feeling I just feel sad and angry all the time 😭 x

@Becky yes I do but around me there really isn't much to do other then a park which isn't great I just get sick of walking the same places over and over x

You don’t sound like a brat it’s tiring being a mum xx

I feel same these days, stuck in house even though I try to go out but sit on the same couch for hours and hours is insane

100% in the same boat and I’m only 6 months into my maternity leave. My car fully broke down 3 months ago so I’ve been depending on my partner to go everywhere. Getting used to being a mum and also not having the independence to go anywhere and do anything is so depressing. Like you say, only so much walking around the block you can do. I’ve also been avoiding seeing friends because I’m just so depressed. It’s like a vicious cycle. I’m hoping to snap out of it by the next few weeks when I start my KIT days x

Hi incognito. I think you’re normal. :) I feel the same sometimes. lol. Do you wanna message and say hi ? I’m happy to talk
