Intros

Hellooo, Thanks for joining the group! 😊 Shall we get a little round of intros? I'm Aurélie, 35, due in January 2025 with our first baby. I've been doing crossfit since January 2018 and absolutely love it. I coached for a year in 2021/2022. Favourite move is probably a heavy clean (even though I broke my wrist after a pb in 2022) and pistol squats and least favourite is echo bike or double unders or wall walks. 😅 Thank god I'm not doing them anymore during pregnancy. I've recently been told by coaches we were not meant to do lunges while pregnant and thought that was odd (I have my level 1 and had never been told that, my husband is a PT and I have pre/post natal PTs friends as well), so I decided it would be great to have a group to discuss this with other pregnant women and mums who do crossfit! Welcome!

@Amy oh interesting about the lunges. And shoulder press, that's impressive! 💪🏼 My pre/post natal pt friend said she had never heard such a thing 😂 I'll keep lunging until I can't anymore haha.

Hey Aurelie, thanks for setting up the group - I wish this had existed when I first found out I was pregnant as it would have been great to share what everyone’s doing scaling wise etc. I’m just coming up to 34 weeks now still doing 3-4 classes a week but finding all the scaled movements really boring now, I can’t wait to jump on a box and swing from the rig again!!

@Bridie aaahh you're so welcome! And well done for doing 3-4 wods a week at 34 weeks! That's so inspiring! 😍 Do you find you're more tired after having done a wod that day? I often find I'm buzzing for 2 hours then tired earlier during the day if I've been to the gym. I bet they're boring now though 🙈😂 I'm already sad I'm not allowed to do kipping pull ups anymore! And also overly cautious with weightlifting and trying to keep the bar close but not THAT close 😅

Yes through the week I just about get through but sat and Sunday I need a nap come 11am after the classes 😂 you’ll hopefully be just about coming out of that tired stage now though and will probs get all your energy back!! I reduced the weight loads so that I could feel more in control of the bar, I think you just know what’s right for you 👌 x

@Amy yes the c2 is mind numbing 🤣🤣 not long for me and you to go now until we can get back into it again! What date in sept are you due??

If I’m lucky enough to have a straight forward birth then I’ll probs just go back to the normal gym after 4 weeks to do some light strength training and then ease myself back into CrossFit after 6…but who knows how things will go! What are you thinking? X
