Vegetarian babies

Are there any mum's with veggie little ones that can help? I ensure my LO has a balanced diet with lots of beans and lentils ect but my question is vitamins. Do you just give your babies the standard multi vitamins or do you supplement other things?

Not veggie so can’t advise sorry but I want to incorporate more veggie stuff into my LG’s diet - can i ask how you give beans as in what type of dishes? I did a pasta kidney bean salad and she refused the kidney beans 😅

Hello! My babe is currently vegan (not by choice, she has FPIES food allergies to egg and dairy she would otherwise be veggie). We’ve worked really closely with a private dietician as well as allergy clinic and nhs dieticians through our allergy journey, and even though she only has 20 safe foods, we have a good range or plant proteins, veggies and carbs, they were all happy with her diet actually being balanced. She takes WellBaby 14 vitamin drops which were recommended by the dietician which includes iron and Vit D. We don’t supplement with anything else. I’m still breastfeeding and the dietician said she will be getting the majority of her calcium through that, and also her veggies as I was concerned about calcium. Hope this helps

@Yaz not a veggie either but we do love a veggie cottage pie! Baked beans and green lentils instead of mince, a cottage pie/shepherd's pie mix (whichever you prefer but reduce the ml water required to 200 instead of 300 I think - 100 less anyway! Because of the bean juice) Topped with sweet potato mash 🤤 it's very tasty

@Laura ooh this sounds yummy, will give it a go! Thanks ❤️

Not 100% veggie but rarely eats meat as I’m vegetarian. I give the wellbaby multi vitamin that has iron and vitD (when I remember) and am careful with his diet!

Not veggie but I actually would like to know what veggies you give your little one. I feel like I don’t include enough veggies in my sons diet and I’d like to know which veggies are the best for that

Our little one has a vegan diet (by choice) but we give her a wellbaby vitamin which isn’t strictly vegan (has vit D which comes from sheep) but is veggie. I really like the first steps ‘vegan infants’ doc which you can download for free here: https://www.firststepsnutrition.org/eating-well-early-years It has loads of great info about achieving a balanced diet and good nutrition for little ones.

I'm veggie/vegan,I don't give her vitamins but I'm still breastfeeding
