Canasten question

I think I have a UTI so I’ve been given so antibiotics by the GP. Do you think it will do me any harm by putting some Canasten cream on too, just to cover myself? I just want to feel comfortable? I know we’re aloud the creams and thought it might be a good shout as well as my antibiotics 🤷🏼‍♀️

A UTI isn’t the same as a yeast infection? Getting one doesn’t mean you’ll get the other. Normally if you get both at the same time, it’s because you’re poorly or immune system is just low. I don’t think one can cause the other per se.

@Natasha oh for sure, I know they are totally different but I’m just not comfortable and wondering if have a bit of thrush too but I can’t tell because I’m uncomfortable anyway from the UTI anyway so it’s hard to tell. So I was just going to pop a bit of cream on to cover myself.

Whenever I have antibiotics, I always end up with thrush (just how my body reacts). My midwife has said Canestan cream is ok to use but you might need to get it on prescription as some pharmacies won’t sell it to you when pregnant x

Im literally in the same boat. Got a UTI was given antibiotics and then started to feel a different kind of uncomfortable. I’ve been popping some canasten on for good measure. As long as you’re not doing the internal cream there’s no harm done.

Thanks @Molly. I hope you feel better soon too
