Colostrum collecting
Has anyone started collecting colostrum? How much are you collecting and how often are you doing this ? Currently 36+4! X

I started Sunday (37 weeks) got nothing on the first day trying to hand express. Second day I used the medela harmony manual pump, got a few droplets but nothing collectable. Third day got 0.8ml (expressed twice for 10 mins), fourth day got 2ml (expressed twice one for 10 mins and one for 15) and today I got 3ml (expressed 3 times, 10-15 mins each) I always use a hot water bottle and then massage each breast until I get a droplet, then I start using the pump. I just pop the pump in the fridge between each session then collect all after my final one of the day xx
I started 3 days ago. Day 1 - 0.5ml, Day 2 - 1ml and Day 3 - 2.5ml. I’m only doing it once a day though. 😊

@Demi Jackson I started Monday and only got a little bit then tried again tonight and was able to get some more. I found doing it tonight easier by using a spoon for the drops to go onto then using the syringes to syringe it up when finished ( obviously clean sterile spoon) x
