Pregnant again or remaining HCG?

I had a miscarriage which was finished 3 weeks ago (confirmed via scan 3 weeks tomorrow that there was nothing left in my uterus) This morning I decided to take a test a got a faint line. Since there was nothing in my uterus 3 weeks ago and the loss was a very early one about 4/5 weeks would I still have HCG in my system after 3 weeks? Or could this be a new pregnancy? This is how much my test dropped over 5 days between the 19th June and the 24th June and it’s been 3 weeks since 24th June now (faint test - posted in the comments) so it’s hard to believe that after 3 weeks this is still old HCG but maybe I’m just in denial. Please help 🙏🏼.

Nothing in the uterus doesn’t mean the HCG levels has gone because it can take up to 6 weeks for the levels to return to normal. I would speak to a gp and midwife and get checked over and tested. I know it’s hard, I had a miscarriage and it took 5 weeks for my levels to return to normal but at my 1 week scan my uterus was empty so unfortunately it may just be left over HCG still 😌 Praying you get your baby ❤️

@Chloe I know nothing in the uterus doesn’t mean HCG was gone, just the pregnancy, but I think 3 weeks after everything was cleared is a bit much for a 4-5 week pregnancy especially when the test dropped to that faint within 5 days, surely 3 weeks after it would be gone no? X

@Chloe unfortunately not. Mine was 5 weeks gestation and 5 weeks HCG. It needs confirmation with a doctor or midwife to confirm because the tests show if HCG is present but don’t show the actual levels 😌 my levels had to be confirmed through blood tests to be accurate

Did you receive a negative test at any stage? I lost a pregnancy at 5 weeks and the Drs advised me to keep testing until negative (i only had to do it once) to ensure that hcg levels were down and no retained products. I think that this could be a new pregnancy! However, it is best to get some blood taken at the GP to confirm. X

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks too. Within 3 days my tests were showing negative and I ovulated the 2 weeks later and fell pregnant. I feel like you’ll be able to tell by taking the clear blue digitals which tell you the week. But coming from my experience, I’d say you’re pregnant again! X

When I had my MC it took like 6 weeks to get a negative but they were never this strong, I’d say it looks like a new pregnancy. Try a clear blue with the dates on and see if it goes up within a few days xx

@Saff no I didn’t keep testing unfortunately, I should have as it would have stopped a lot of uncertainty x

@Lauren thank you x

@Magan thank you I will do that and post updates x

That looks to dark for a test to be still positive from your miscarriage, I would say it's a new pregnancy definitely get a clearblue or possibly contact EPU and say that you have took a test and it's darker than it was before and they bring you in for a scan x

@Sonia what do you mean? X the test that I put in the original post was when my miscarriage was happening and the test that I posted in the comments was 5 days later when I had the scan at the EPU confirmed everything was gone and it’s been 3 weeks since the test in the comments and I’ve got the faintest positive x but I’m thinking surely after 3 weeks there wouldn’t be a line anymore as it was already so faint and we can see how much my HCG dropped in just 5 days due to the difference between the two tests that I posted xx

The picture you have attached to your post I thought was one you had taken today which is quiet dark, so was saying you could definitely be pregnant again hun xx

@Sonia no aha there would be no doubt in my mind if it was that dark still xx

When I miscarried in March at 8 wks, my tests were faint positive for abut 3 weeks. When would you be due ur period again? Xx

@Sonia I have no idea, I haven’t tracked ovulation so it would be a guess of between 4-8 weeks after my miscarriage completed? I honestly have no clue. I was only 4/5 weeks though so HCG wouldn’t have been as high as yours x

@Sonia how long did it take to get yours back? Sorry for your loss also x

I had a period 30 days after the first day the bleeding started from the miscarriage. My cycle then went to 28 days but in May I only bleed for 3 days which I'm normally 5/6 days, then june was a proper period, so took 3 months for my body but I am now currently 6 wks pregnant. Some ppl do catch pregnant straight after a miscarriage my body just took a little bit longer xx
