Failed at making mum friends

Did you any else do all the baby groups but completely fail to make any mum friends? I wanted to make mum friends but am very interverted and struggled to make any. Most of the mums are leaving to go back to work now so I feel like I'm missed my opportunity, anyone had a similar experience?

Yeah same here I was only off work for 4 months and the groups I did go to I made acquaintances but not friends, I struggle to make friends in general anyway so I don't really have many friends and those I do have live ages away x

Yeh, I've not made any mum friends.

It's definitely not easy. 1) your watching your baby/toddler so it's hard to converse, especially when they are toddlers. 2) most of us are tired from waking all night and many other reasons. I just go and be as friendly as I can , and just enjoy the groups for what they are.

Yeah I haven’t really made any mum friends while doing classes etc with either of my two when they were little. To be fair my mum says that you’ll mostly make friends when they go off to school with mums in their class etc. even now my younger sister is 17 and 90% of my mums friends are other mums whose kids were in the same year as my sister

With my first, the only mum friends I made were from my NCT group. I went to classes and always chatted to the mums next to me, but nothing ever came of it. 3 years on, I do see one of those “class mums” nearly every week in Tesco 😂 we always stop and chat but nothing more (I still don’t even know her name, only her kids names 🤣). Like someone else mentioned, I think school friends parents will be where friendships might possibly pop up 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you, I really appreciate your comments, glad it's not just me x

I didn't really make any mum friends till my eldest went to nursery/preschool! So it's definitely not too late 😊 I am pretty introverted and antisocial, very happy in my own company but my eldest starting school in Sept has forced me (and I've forced myself) to get more involved, as a result I've found new mum friends that also have younger ones too. I actually met one of them on here just over a year ago and I consider her a really good friend now (not the May 2023 group, a group for my local town) so if you're not in a group like that, worth a go? 😊

Yeah I'm the same. To be honest I don't have many friends let aline mum friends. I seem to struggle making friends. X

@Leanne must be a Leanne thing. :) I have no friends it's sad to say. I'm terrible at it.
